“Ye dhammā hetuppabhavā
Tesaṃ hetuṃ Tathāgato āha
Tesañ ca yo nirodho
Evaṃvādī mahāsamaṇo“

Of things that proceed from a cause,
Their cause the Tathāgata has told,
And also their cessation—
Thus teaches the Great Ascetic.
